Meet The Team
Shai Patel, Director
Shai started his career in the banking sector working for TSB (Lloyds TSB) back in 1988. He had a number of positions including that of a tied regulated financial adviser. Shai then joined a small firm as an independent financial adviser essentially learning the ropes- being independent is very different to that of a tied adviser. He strongly believes that everyone is individual and therefore should have the choice of products and services to suit them and not be shoe horned into a one size fits all proposition. Although he’s moved on from there, he has always remained independent and in 2008 he set up Generation Financial Services Ltd to continue to provide financial advice based upon his core beliefs.
Shai’s time outside of the office is spent playing golf, enjoying a concert or two and spending time with his family.

Andrew Waller, Director
Andrew has been in the financial services industry since 1986, working as a financial adviser for a major insurance company, progressing to independent status in 1989 and running his own IFA business for many years. Since the sale of the business he has held sales director roles within major IFA businesses before joining Shai at Generation to head up the corporate proposition.
Andrew has specialised in the corporate market for nearly 20 years dealing with businesses of all shapes and sizes, helping them to implement employee benefits for their staff.
From a personal point of view, his passion is hiking the mountains of the world and sailing yachts when he gets time between peaks.

Alan Webb, Operations Director
Upon leaving school Alan qualified as a project/ mechanical design engineer and in 1983 he moved into the insurance industry to enable him to spend more time with his family. He quickly gained the required qualifications and experience in providing financial advice and in 1995 he began to specialise in providing advice on employee benefits to businesses. Since then he has worked for a number of well known Company’s such as Midland /HSBC Bank and Ernst & Young Financial Management Ltd. Alan is now semi-retired looking after our accounts and back office systems and as is a Director enabling us to benefit from his wealth of experience.
Alan is married with two adult children and he lives at Frinton-on-Sea. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time at his apartment in southern Spain relaxing, reading and soaking up the Spanish hospitality.
Carl Mountain, Consultant
Carl has worked in financial services for 25 years and has been advising private clients on their financial planning needs since the year 2000. He has worked with several high street and private banks as well as a national IFA firm. He has been with Generational Financial Services since 2010.
He is qualified to Diploma level, whilst also being qualified in long-term care planning, equity release and mortgages. He can advise across all areas of financial planning and specialises in mortgages, protection, investment and pensions. He also advises professional trustees and power of attorney. Carl is a member of the Institute of Financial Services.
Carl’s clients are typically professionals, company directors, entrepreneurs, sports and property professionals, although he works with clients from all walks of life as it keeps his role varied and interesting. He believes that everyone should have access to quality, sound financial advice. Outside of work, Carl enjoys following most sports and he is a keen footballer when given the chance.

Jeff Scripps, Consultant
Jeff hails from Cambridge and claims to have studied business and finance at University there – although it was a Polytechnic when he attended. He started working life at General Accident which after various mergers became Aviva. 23 years at Aviva saw Jeff consulting with investment and pension brokers to provide workplace and personal solutions to their companies and clients. Following Aviva, Jeff spent two years at Scottish Life concentrating on pensions and becoming an expert on the new Pension Law that spawned Automatic Enrolment.
Jeff now works at GFS specialising in group pension schemes and working on delivering complex auto enrolments projects smoothly, allowing business owners to carry on doing what they do best – running their company. Jeff is a father of two girls, a husband to another. Probably better skilled at tennis, badminton and golf and speaking in public houses.

Jacky Castle-Mason, Operations Manager
Jacky started her working life with Barclays Bank, before moving on to Allied Dunbar’s Head office where she worked in their pension new business processing department. Following a house move from Wiltshire to Surrey she joined Willis Corroon Financial Planning (latterly known as Chase de Vere). During her 20+ years there, and numerous company name changes, she undertook a variety of roles with the last one being as the Operations Manager for the Corporate side of the business. After this time she then joined Generation where she has been heading up the corporate administration for the past 4 ½ years. In her spare time Jacky enjoys spending time in her garden, eating out and taking holidays in Mauritius.

Warren Dunn, Senior PFP Administrator
Warren has been with Generation Financial Services since April 2009 and currently provides full administration support to their Personal Financial Planning Advisers, and also deals with all the commission and fee matching for the company. Before joining Generation Warren spent time at Cavanagh (5 years) where he first met Shai, Andy and Alan, and Marsh McClellan (13 years), in similar administrative roles. Prior to that he worked at 2 London based Stockbrokers for around a total of 4 years. With two teenage children any spare time is spent ferrying them around!
